-College Station Independent School District's MissionThe statement above is borrowed from my school district because it is a profound statement and yet so simple. The first moment I heard this nine years ago it spoke to my heart and it has been my mission ever since. So simple and so complicated, success looks very different for each student; from feeding themselves to performing calculus. Success is success and very individualized, just imagine having everyone working with this mission in mind.
Personal Assumptions:
All children have the right to a developmentally appropriate counseling program that will meet the needs of every student with the tools and support of the staff, community and the resources to promote a positive learning environment throughout the school.
The school counselor will be an advocate for the students' learning and personal success. The school counselor will also be an advocate of the teachers’ growth and success. The program will be purposefully planned and driven by data and evaluations. The program will be implemented through the collaboration of the school counselor, administration, staff and the community.
